Society has put up so many boundaries, so many limitations on what’s right and wrong that it’s almost impossible to get a pure thought out. It’s like a little kid, a little boy, looking at colors, and no one told him what colors are good, before somebody tells you you shouldn’t like pink because that’s for girls, or you’d instantly become a gay two-year-old. Why would anyone pick blue over pink? Pink is obviously a better color. Everyone’s born confident, and everything’s taken away from you.

Guinan “She did the most devastating thing one person can do to another …not live up to your expectations”

Whoopi Goldberg dropped an epic gem on me with this one.

Because I’m trek nerd I learned a valuable lesson years ago. Take people for what/who they are, some could be a pleasant surprise while others may disappoint. Now every once in a while I slip up and place people on a pedestal only to be reminded that like me, people fuck up.

There are also those rare beings who constantly breakdown or exceed any “expectations” at such a high rate it’s hard to comprehend. I love those individuals who can/will not be boxed in. They are few and far between in my life, but unexpected surprises are one of the greatest things about this existence.
